It started about a year ago, I had been going back and forth between whether to
cut my hair or let it grow out. I was listening to the radio and heard about Jade's
event, and she was talking about Shear Hope and everything that went along with
it, and I immediately knew that God wanted me to do the same. Well, my hair was
too short, but I went to Jade's event and told Jeffrey and Molly that I would
grow my hair out for a year. So, 11 months have gone by, and
I couldn't be more excited about this decision. We found out about two months
ago that my aunt has breast cancer, and she will be starting chemo treatments
soon. I definitely want to do this in her honor. I'm pretty
stoked about donating my hair to locks of love again, but I'm so excited helping
out these families. I've gotten support from a lot of the people
that I've told, especially from my family and friends. It's kinda funny because
all the women I've told are really supportive, but some of the guys keep asking
"but do you really have to shave it all, cant you just cut
it real short?" It's not about the wig or the money, it's also about showing
my love and support for those with cancer by choosing to be bald. If
anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on
him, how can the love of God be in him? - 1 John 3:17
