raised so far: $122 In 2006, I saw my friend Kate Perkins shave
her head for Shear Hope. I was a freshman in high school and was deeply touched
by the amount of courage she had to do it. During that time her father had cancer
which affected his and his family's life tremendously. I saw first-hand the struggles
they faced. Seeing that has inspired me to step out in faith and do something.
Jesus Christ has shown me so much love and in return I want to show others the
same love he has for me! Hopefully I can inspire others just like Kate inspired
me years ago. Now three years later, I am ready to graduate
and start the summer off with a bang. And what better way to start off a blazing-hot
Texas summer than being bald? I can't wait to walk into my high school tomorrow
and spread awareness of this awesome organization! To me, my generation needs
to be less concerned with our own needs and more concerned with the needs of others.
Helping someone else who is struggling should be my main priority in life. And
I know with the people in my school, donating money to see someone shave their
head will raise the bar! This will be a great opportunity for my friends to show
love by donating what they can.

Katherine's
event was held on Sunday, June 28th at The Chapel in the Woods in Dallas. |
