Six years ago my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. She lived her life to
the fullest and was very high spirited. She would visit her doctors frequently
and the doctors always would tell her that she was as clean as a whistle. Until
one day when she was diagnosed with cancer, she would always tell us that everything
was going to be ok. Unfortunately she passed away 6 months after
being diagnosed and there was nothing that we could do for her. I always wondered
if there was something that maybe I would be able to do for her but never really
had a clue. I am 28 years old, grew up in Missouri, and have always
tried to find ways to help change others lives that where less fortunate I always
try to help them better themselves. I am all about giving and hoping for the best.
I have lived in Texas for the last nine years, and I have learned so much about
working in diverse cultures and helping others on a daily basis. Seeing
the impact that these organizations have had on so many peoples lives has
made me realize that this is just one more way I can help someone in need. I hope
to one day meet the person that I help by donating my hair and hope to encourage
others to also donate for those in need. Not just hair, donate anything.
